  • when I turned 18, I was able to get stupid credit. I got a Mastercard with $5000, I got a visa with $5000, I had lines of credit with the bank, etc,etc.

    I think it took me about 5 years to raise $30,000 in debt.

    Once I made over a couple hundred thousand working the mortgage industry, I paid it all off.

    I recently paid of my AMEx.

  • When I lived in Florida in the early 80s my DOG, Smudge, got a MasterCard in the mail. The card was pre-approved with a $3000 limit. All my dog had to do was make the phone call to activate it. Not soon after my 8 year old daughter recieved a Visa card in the mail, also pre-approved. My wife and i were getting, on average, about 3-4 credit card offers a WEEK.
    I had an AMEX card for about 5 years. i got rid of it because they started charging me an annual fee & the NO limit was too tempting.
  • I refuse to pay an annual fee on my regular cards.

    For my company I have an AMEX CENTURION CARD.

    You pay $5000 to register in the beggining and you MUST spend $250,000 a year on it to keep it.

    It makes sense only if you are heavily into travel or always purchasing for your company.

    My personal Amex card’s limit was changed from $500 to UNLIMITED since is topped using it.

  • I used to be a frequent flyer. Now I don’t want to fly. I know at some point i will have to. Luckily, i am in a position to arrange for a secured credit card with a balance of whatever I want. At least their aren’t any fees & its my own cash I’ll be “borrowing”. There are several ways used to FORCE us to have a card. Right now I use cash & checks for everything.
  • The only reason i can see using c.cards is that some stores give you great warranties if you do.

    My aunt bought her son an Xbox360 and even 2 years later, if it Red rings on them, costco will take it back and give them a new one.

    I bought the book and found it easy to read and helpful. The section on how to clean up your credit report was particularly useful for me. Cleaning up my report will hopefully allow me to qualify for the home loan I will be applying for soon. I only read the sections that applied to my financial situation, but I will keep the book handy to help with any future credit repair needs. S. Green

    I read this book in hopes that it would indeed help me to start repairing my credit. It is all fluff and filler as my title states. It doesn’t really explain to you how to do anything. It definitely doesn’t help anyone dealing with collection agencies. It doesn’t tell you anything about debt validation, which a collection agency is required to provide upon request. Honestly this doesn’t even touch the tip of the iceberg.

    My summary of the book which will save you the cost of buying: pay your bills on time, check your credit report at least once a year, if your score is low you won’t get anything, oh and this guy ran a credit counseling agency.

    This software is great. If you want to get out of debt fast including your mortage [if you have one] then this software is the tool for you.

    1) Get all your financial data together.

    2) Enter the information.

    3) Bingo! You now have a plan.

    This tool takes into account all of the details surrounding your debts, interest rates, current payments, outstanding balance, etc… and quickly and easily turns it all into a month-by-month detailed debt elimination plan.

    You’ll know exactly when you can have that debt-free party, and
    you will have all the help and motivation you need – when you see the balance of your debts shrinking in months not years.

    With just the click of the mouse you can print your month-by-month payment and balance schedules and be on your way to financial security.

    Think about it…we all complain that we are not paid enough, but how much money would you really have, if you didn’t have the following payments:

    * Credit card payments

    * Car payments

    * Store cards payments

    * Mortgage payments

    Just add them up and see for yourself… I did!

    Stop giving your money away… Stop making your bank rich… Stop making your credit card company rich… Stop making your mortgage company rich. Because, has long as you keep giving them your money [INTEREST PAYMENTS]… guess what? They’ll keep taking it.

    REMEMBER: With this software:

    *You don’t have to think about.

    *It’s all done for you.

    *Just fill in the blanks.

    Credit is not “real money” 1st off and 2nd Settlemnt is a huge scam!! What ever u dont get to settle for is considered taxable income by the IRS and youll get a 1099 c form at the end of the year!! This company (debtcrisissolutionsdotcom) opened my eyes to the truth about credit and also after being decieved by these disgusting scams like cosolidation and settlemnt i am blessed to have found a real and honost comp who legally eliminates debt and restored my credit without me paying a fortune!

    The way I look at it is this, we loaned the banking industry 700 billion, I hadn’t received timely payments back so I’m declaring that they are late so I’m upping the interest to 30% (legal in my state). I believe that equates to an extra 210 billion in interest per month. Its been a few months now so their debt is really skyrocketing out of control. I’m sending this to collections.

    This is nothing but an infomercial. This guy has some good points, but he just wants you to use his service. The key to getting out of debt is 1) stop using the cards immediately 2) call the bank and get your APR lowered 3) make some sacrifices and pay as much towards the principle as you can each month until its paid off. 4) NEVER use a credit card again!

    I agree that there can be certain perks with some cards. I have reviewed them all and have used most. For me, being credit card free outweighs all of them by a mile.
    I am also preparing to pay off my mortgage in a lump sum. Since i have always payed cash for my vehicles this will leave me debt free except for the “grid”.
